An eight-foot aluminium box is being touted as the solution to the housing shortage. But what’s it like to sleep, eat, wash and entertain in one? BBC News’s Rajesh Mirchandani did just that.

Boy, it’s hard to find a really good, green(er), efficient spray foam insulation for your home! This seems like a good bet: Biobased Spray Foam Insulation
is made from soybeans (a renewable resource), containing no harmful and
irritating micro-fibers or organic dust particulates. It is a thermoset
plastic foam that is, by its very nature, inert. Because it uses water
as the blowing agent to apply the insulation, the system produces no
off-gassing and provides an eco-friendly approach aimed at reducing the use of foreign oil products.
When the insulation is sprayed into the floors, walls and ceilings, it
quickly expands to 100 times its size to fill in every crack, crevice,
and void, creating a continuous air barrier around your home that
blocks outside irritants such as mold, pollen, and other allergens from
entering your indoor environment. The company states that “It insulates your home so well you will actually require a smaller HVAC unit in your home or structure. BioBased Insulation will not support mold growth and is not a food source for rodents, insects or other vermin.” Sounds good to me.

So we went and bought a reel mower today. I LOVE IT. silent, cuts great, and its light.
bought it for a hundred bucks at menards. worth it. never buy gas again, no oil, cept for the lil bit of WD40 on the blades, and its quiet. if youve ever wondered if they’re worth it, they are.

Home Remedies — Alternatives to Insecticides and Fungicides
Published June 7, 2007 Thoughts Leave a CommentThis is good stuff. I was looking for a way to kill some ant colonies that were popping up in my garden. I had heard that making an infusion of sorts with tomato leaves would kill the ants without introducing any chemicals into the patch of soil that holds the basil. I’m thinking that this spot is really just too sandy, as the rest of the garden has no ants. I might just till this section up and try to supplement the soil with some lovely black dirt. Anyway, I thought this was too good to not make mention of-

“The intention of this festival is to co-create a community celebration with the event patrons (THAT’S YOU!). We invite YOU to take control of your concert experience and transform it into a profound renaissance of creative participation (rather than just observation). Project Earth is an experimental convergence between a music concert, rainbow gathering, eco-village and political and social justice alchemy.
Primarily Project Earth is an opportunity to camp together and fund raise for charitable causes. That’s right…100% of the profits for this festival are going to help other communities around the globe. By taking the focus off the “main stage” and dividing the energy between numerous ambient performance spaces, an atmosphere of intimate spontaneity will unfold.
The idea is to focalize hundreds of ticket purchasing participants to be involved in everything from prop building, theme camp design, workshop presentation, performance, family activities, promotions, cleanup, etc… It’s “OUR” playground… What can you contribute!?”
